Assuming WP:ANC, would it make sense to assist the editor with their first article and address concerns first? It appears they have been on wikipedia for about an hour, so they should be forgiven for not knowing all of the rules. I will go ahead and indicate what the concerns are on their talk page. 74.69.39.11 (talk) 18:06, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Don't you mean WP:AGF rather than WP:ANC? --Skeezix1000 (talk) 12:53, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cheerleading's Classification As a Sport

[edit]

Is has recently been contested via edits that the school's athletic participation in cheerleading should be classified as an "extracurricular activity", indicating it is not a sport. As discussed on the primary cheerleading page, cheerleading's classification as a sport is largely disputed, and given the school's participation in competitions, it would be, at least in my opinion, a fair conclusion to list it as a sport on this specific page.

Please feel free to discuss here, but without further citation or discussion, it should remain without additional classification as a non-sport. --HunterM267 talk 19:34, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I concur with the opinion of HunterM267 that cheerleading should be listed as a sport on this specific page, citing only that the governing body in West Virginia, the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission, which awarded the four state championships and three state runner-up positions to the cheerleading teams at Lincoln High School does classify the competition as a sport and cheerleaders at WVSSAC members must undergo all the same eligibility requirements as athletes in other sports. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.182.253.97 (talk) 20:46, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
