The island called Cyprus[edit]

It seems like the island of Cyprus does not exist. In all other islands/countries that I could see in WP (for example Taiwan) the list begins with an official state name, in that case: "Republic of China", although it is generally known as "Taiwan". See the lead of that article: "This is a list of islands of the Republic of China —more usually known as Taiwan— classified into various island groups. The largest island is Taiwan itself, formerly known as Formosa, which now makes up most of the territory of the Republic of China. Islands that are actively claimed by the ROC but not administered, such as the Senkaku Islands and most of South China Sea Islands, are excluded from the list." Well, in the case of Cyprus and the "Republic of Cyprus", it is not exactly the main island that makes up most of the territory of the "Republic of Cyprus" (because the island is divided in itself) but somehow, it is the Republic that makes the major portion on the island. We should edit this list article, beginning with a name change, but I am not very sure how... --E4024 (talk) 00:42, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
