Untitled[edit]

Please help to expand this article. The primary focus should be on the history of each building/structure. Also, pictures of Mountaintop campus and Goodman Campus are needed.Plm209 12:11, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Additional Pictures[edit]

I know that this article is lacking but it has been suggested that, in order to cut down on article size of the Lehigh University article, the buildings that were once stubs in the article be relocated to a new article and linked to. I will be taking pictures once I arrive at school next week (August 25) of all the buildings. Feel free to edit as you please. Remember- be BOLD Plm209 19:25, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

I don't think these two dorms (McClintic-Marshall House and Taylor College) deserve pages of their own. Any objections (from anyone except an inmate )? Sarregouset (Talk) 23:25, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. I see that Wiki has now merged them onto the main building page... (John G. Lewis (talk) 18:37, 2 May 2015 (UTC))[reply]

STEPS[edit]

Added brief information about STEPS building. --IR393DEME (talk) 23:32, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Filling This Out[edit]

I just spent way more time than originally planned adding a lot of missing buildings. I know there is a lot of history to these buildings, but I couldn't find precise sources online easily. I'm also missing some construction dates. Before I start digging into the Brown and White archives, I'm going to fire off an email to the Facilities Management Office, and see if they can't help me out with some of this. Drumz0rz (talk) 11:38, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is one key building we are forgetting here: The President's House. Willard Ross Yates writes that construction was coterminous with Packer Hall. It is Dutch Colonial in effect, and I am estimating circa 1870, therefore, with Yates' small note. Much later, an extension would be placed on the Southwest side. The center structure is again of stone.[1]

One other building should be added, but it has a complex history. It is Price Hall, which for a long time was home to the Sociology and Anthropology Departments (and of which both were formerly only elements of the department - and Lehigh major - "Social Relations", also being housed in Price). ... I am fairly sure that this building was the old converted brewery, but I do not know if its construction predates the University (1865). It really has nothing to do with "The Quad" above it. (The latter being actually a misnomer, therefore.) (John G. Lewis (talk) 14:37, 3 June 2015 (UTC))[reply]

Further Photographs[edit]

We have done much work on this page, and have many good photos. Yet, I think we can improve. I might suggest 5 key areas/buildings which should be added, and five others which might. The first five are Grace Hall, the downhill face and entrance; Linderman Library, modern exterior photos, and the main entrance; the Seeley G. Mudd Bld. (possibly a combined view with Neville, though difficult); Steps; the Zoellner Arts Center. The second five are: The Campus Square 'gate', and north (town) entrance to the University; Christmas Hall: an old vintage photograph; Rathbone Hall, and the views from; the Sayre Park gates; Maginnes Hall. Extra Pictures[edit]

For some reason, most of the pictures are duplicated. I plan on removing the extra ones. Also, for some of the buildings that dont have pictures, like Maginnes, I will try to add some from the university's website.Bajor9 (talk) 19:57, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I know all have worked hard on this page, Lehigh's main page, & etc. Thanks... for all the effort! (John G. Lewis (talk) 20:04, 18 March 2016 (UTC))[reply]

Merge?[edit]

Why is this page separate from the Lehigh university page? 128.180.192.74 (talk) 05:18, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of gallaries[edit]

@Keystone18 Why did you remove all the gallaries for the images? Now they are haphazardly strewn across the page. Images for Coppee hall should be in the section for Coppee hall, images for FML should be in the section for FML, why did you change this? Scu ba (talk) 03:40, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
