Kayam[edit]

'Kayam' doesn't seem to be released on 7th January. Expected to be released on 21 January.

Status[edit]

'Ref' column[edit]

Is it required to have a separate column for references? Can't it be kept along with the film name?

When I checked some related articles, I found that most of the table formats use references in a separate column. Also it makes vandalism so much easier to spot when the existing info is well sourced. -- Arfaz (talk) 05:09, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

S. A. Jameel[edit]

As far as I know, S. A. Jameel worked in only the plays(Natakam) with the same names mentioned in the films column. I don't think he was part of these films as singer or lyricist. Request you to please confirm.

I read in today's Malayala Manorama that he has acted in a Malayalam film named Laila Majnu (in a song which was written, sung and performed by him on screen). When I visited the Malayalam wiki link, two more films were listed there. Thats why I added his name in the list. Dubbed releases[edit]

released films table - missing column[edit]

In the 'Released films' table, there is one big drawback. As there is no serial no: column, it is not giving the no: of films released in the year. This is a very important information which was present in previous years' pages. people will be interested in this information. Better we add this column to the table.

Top films list[edit]

I have removed the list of top Malayalam films as the source given (sanscinema.com) is not at all reliable. -- Arfaz (talk) 14:21, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed that stupid list which was added back by another user previously. Sancinema cannnot be considered at all as a reliable source per WP:RS. Even Boxofficeindia is not considered a good source in wiki. Sancinema website itself reveals that the box office details "may not represent actual numbers as distributors or producers rarely publish the actual box office collection." I don't think Sanscinema has any credibility. They don't show any proof in their website for their figures. It will be best to add the list of top grossing films at the end of the year, using lists from better and established sites like NDTV, Sify, Rediff, Manorama, Mathrubhumi etc.

Kadhayile Nayika[edit]

There is no evidence that this film got released on 10 June 2011. Can someone confirm it, else we should delete the entry.

Top grossing films[edit]

I am very disappointed whomsoever has deleted the table. I agree that sanscinema may not find the exact estimates, but i don't think that any site in india will give a clear figure of the gross. But we must be happy atleast they are giving some informaation. So, I urge to please put the table again. Can't see any reference for the figures given by Sanscinema in the link provided. It can well be the guesswork of Sanscinema. It is not quoting the distributor, producer or Exhibitors association. Another point is the figures will not match the figures in film magazines or other sites, which clearly shows that these figures are not authentic.
