Inclusion Criteria

[edit]

Per WP:LIST, this list needs to have an explicitly stated inclusion criteria somewhere in the article. (Even lists that seem obvious from the name of the article need clear-cut explicit inclusion criteria). If this survives AfD, this needs to be addressed. --Bfigura (talk) 05:14, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I completely agree. There is no justification for the inclusion of the organisations that are currently in this list, as the current references provide verification, but don't assert notability. Heavy clean-up needed. I will put an appropriate tag on the list. —gorgan_almighty 08:56, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The organizations on the list self-affirm as belonging to the Messianic Judaism movement, and represent themselves as such. NPOV would affirm their inclusion, without judging whether they hold to Messianic orthodoxy or not.--DeknMike (talk) 00:23, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Remove the out of scale table

[edit]

Any objection to making this a normal bulleted list?--Editor2020 (talk) 03:10, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Works better as a table.--DeknMike (talk) 00:23, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unauthorized Move

[edit]

Some editors performed a redirect on this page (to "Messianic Christianity") based on POV that Messianic Judaism doesn't deserve to use the term 'Judaism' in its title. Whether it should or shouldn't, the movement has in fact used that term for at least 40 years, and the term has been around for over 100 years. The organizations on the list self-affirm as belonging to the Messianic Judaism movement, and represent themselves as such. Messianic Christianity is a different theological perspective.--DeknMike (talk) 00:23, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Status and Advice

[edit]

As reviewing administrator, I did not perform the deletion. The true name for the page is in dispute, an0d there does not appear to be consensus.I have my own opinion on this, based on what I view as the purpose of these groups, as does everyone interested, and none of our opinions are worth anything. The question is what terms is generally used in the world, Its pretty clear what terms is used generally in Wikipedia, which is consistently Messianic Judaism for the articles, the category , and the portal. I note also that most of the involved organizations regard Messianic Jewish as part of their title, none with an article in Wikipedia use Messianic Christian. . I therefore regard the latest move away from that long established title as disruptive, and am moving this back and protecting the redirect to stop the edit warring. I suggest an rfc on the issue . I consider myself uninvolved, being neither a supporter nor opponent of this movement. DGG ( talk ) 02:02, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
