merger[edit]

Note that this page was proposed for merger with List of Norwegian Fjords on October 28th, but the tag was deleted on December 26th due to lack of support—lack of interest. Since I find these useful list for alternate reasons (development by region versus development of articles by country overall) I'd prefer retention and would appreciate being invited to discuss if anyone proposes further merger discussions. Thanks - Williamborg (Bill) 21:23, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Williamborg, I'd like to see them merged, but using sortable tables. (This may not have existed back then.) These tables already include county and municipality, if you add latitude you can recreate the north-south arrangement as well, and alphabetization by name (as the other article) goes without saying. ⇔ ChristTrekker 18:26, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm extremely good with the merger of List of Norwegian fjords (by geographic locations) with other lists if the information content is still readily available. Since my degrees aren't in computer science and I've been out ot the country (& not following Wiki-tech developments) for the past year, must confess I'm not sure what 'sortable tables' would look like. Can you vector me to an example or post an example of a partial merger on your talk page?

I converted list of synagogues in Minnesota to be sortable awhile ago, and it was very straightforward. Basically you put class="sortable" in the opening line of the table, and all the columns become sortable. See Help:Sorting for more info on that. ⇔ ChristTrekker 13:30, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Looks great to me. Allows one to do with tables what one wants to. Excellent feature. Do it, if you want to, with my support. Only one minor regret - all the work that went into making this now outmoded list. 02:19, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi. You're missing the fjord Iddefjord in Østfold in the list. The article has been written. Best regards Bernhard, Denmark —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.48.46.33 (talk) 09:08, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Complete list[edit]

This list is very incomplete. There is actually approx. 1200 fjords longer than 1 km in Norway. A complete list can be found here. --Frokor (talk) 23:44, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agree that this list is very incomplete. I see someone did a huge amount of work to list them on the Norwegian site in early 2008. Excellent bit of work! Getting this moved across to the Norwegian list is absolutely, positively a major effort. Guess we'll have something to do.
