1985: AMA was held at the Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles, CA 1/28/85. Prince and the Revolution was propelled to the top of the charts by the movie "Purple Rain". They performed this song at the 1985 AMA, and won:

- Favorite Pop Album "Purple Rain".

Sheila E, one of his proteges even performed "Glamorous Life".

1990: AMA of Achievement was presented by presented by Anita Baker.

2015, Prince was the first presenter at the November, 2015 AMA awards in the Favorite Soul R&B Album category.

2) VH1 Honors: 1994 was the 1st annual VH1 Honors. Here Prince was honored for his 1/2 million dollar donation to Westside Preparatory School in Chicago, started by Marva Collins in 1975. The award was humorously presented by Kristie Alley after Prince and NPG perform "Interactive". Noteably, Mayte Garcia, who became his wife in 1996, was lead dancer, and he held her hand to accept the award.

In 1997, he was introduced and awarded by Nona Gaye, after he and NPG performed "Purple Medley".
