Albany[edit]

Albany has never had the nickname "Tech Valley" that is a moniker for a large region stretching from almost Poughkeepsie up to the Canadian border, it includes Plattsburgh for heaven's sake! Capital City should replace that moniker. If Tech Valley can be included as a nickname for the city then so should Capital Region and Capital District because they cover the Albany Metro area better than "Tech Valley" does.24.182.142.254 (talk) 04:36, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. I removed that nickname and replaced it with "Cradle of the Union," which was reported by MSN Encarta. --Orlady (talk) 22:09, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disco Capital of the World[edit]

During 1975-1979, New York City was nicknamed the "Disco Capital of the World," is it true? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.42.179.77 (talk) 00:05, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

True or not true, it's unsourced and unverified, so it has been removed. Adding unsourced nicknames to these articles (which you have done to several articles now, editing anonymously from IPs) is wasting other people's time. If you have information that can be verified by citing a reliable source, please add it, but please don't continue what you've been doing. --Orlady (talk) 00:13, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
