Home Alone
[edit]Regarding the Home Alone films being in the "See also" section, the references do not seem to encapsulate any of these films in references that cover this topic. It seems to be that such films tend to be drama, suspense, or horror films; in other words, serious-minded ones. So Home Alone does not fit in that family but still has enough of a superficial connection to the topic that it is worth a tangential mention. Erik (talk | contribs) 18:40, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
- Recent lists of home invasions movies include items like Home Alone and The Ref, so I stand corrected. Such items have been included now. Erik (talk | contribs) 15:37, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
Unreferenced films
[edit]The above films were unreferenced entries that I removed from the list. While some/all may be "obvious", it would help to validate the entries with a secondary source. Thanks, Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 14:11, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

Future Additions
[edit]Some that I need to add yet:
- The Legend of Boggy Creek (1972) (final sequence)
- Home Sweet Home (1981)
- The Perfect Host (2010)
- Home Invasion (2012) - TV movie with Haylie Duff
- Home Sweet Home (2012) (different one from the 2013 version)
- Torment (2013)
- Nobody Can Cool (2015)
- Home Invasion (2015) - Scott Adkins & Natasha Henstridge film
- Ratter (2015)
- Inside (2016)
- Jackals (2017)
- Bad Samaritan (2018)
I'm a bit unsure of what constitutes a home in this article. When I hear of a Home Invasion film, I think of a person's actual dwelling being invaded (house, apartment building, vacation home, ect). While I understand why Kristy (2014) was included, I'm not sure I agree with adding it here without opening the floodgates and allowing other flicks that could be more home-invasion in spirit. In the movie (and no spoilers are given), it's not her house being intruded on by outsiders, but rather her college dorm/campus. There's a reference that cites it as a home invasion, but it kind of sticks out like a sore thumb and it may give fans of the subgenre the wrong idea of what the film is about. If this one warrants being there though, could I add others like Dead Calm (1989) or Adrift (1993), both of which could be boxed into the subgenre too but for the fact that they take place on a yacht instead of in a house? What's the general opinion on this? A-Supreme (talk) 03:21, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
- A-Supreme, this is the source that lists Kristy. Content should be verifiable through reliable sources, but it can help if more than one source say the film has a home invasion in it. If it is just one source, we can discuss removing it (and other one-mention items). Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 11:39, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
Unsourced listings
[edit]I removed unsourced listings from the article as seen here. These films should be restored only with inline citations from secondary sources that indicate the noteworthiness of the home invasion element. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 19:27, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
"intrusion under false pretences"
[edit]If such intrusion is a disqualification for the list, why is The Anderson Tapes included here? The film's article says that the robbers are "disguised as a Mayflower moving and storage crew". Harfarhs (talk) 23:56, 25 November 2022 (UTC)
- Harfarhs, it looks like that was added here by a random IP editor. I don't agree with that addition, and it can be removed. However, for The Anderson Tapes, the inline citation does not actually say "home invasion" at all and should use something that does, like this.
