Untitled[edit]

This page is a laugh, it was probabaly written by 10 year old. Lots of the stuff here is misleading and wrong.

This page needs CONTEXT. Is this specifically gymnastics or what? —Quasirandom 19:24, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

moved to List of gymnastics flips so it has context. RJFJR (talk) 05:40, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Removed all flips that are obviously not related to gymnastics. Now it is necessary to add the genuine flips into the article. Lambtron (talk) 07:08, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar/style[edit]

Needs a good deal of editing to rephrase in third person: references to "you doing something" should be removed. RJFJR (talk) 05:40, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

I'm sure this should be merged somewhere just not sure where. Ridernyc (talk) 15:06, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I thank u should put truth thanh on this website or people will stop using it anymore Adiagirlomflek (talk) 12:46, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Terminology problem?[edit]

There might be a US/UK terminology problem here. I have noticed a lot of kids now talk about doing "flips" on the trampoline when refering to front and back somersault which are not flips in the UK. In the UK a flip is distinct from a somersault in that a flip is a move which travels and rotation is generated from the shoulders, whereas a somersault is a static move in which rotation is generated from the hips. A back-flip in UK terminology refers to what an American would term a back-hanspring, which is a flip. A handspring is also a flip as is an aerial and a layout on floor. But tucked and piked somersaults are not flips and a straight back somersault on a trampoline is also not a flip.87.114.253.187 (talk) 13:52, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand what you mean when you say that rotation is "generated from the shoulders" (or hips). Can you be more concise? Lambtron (talk) 15:51, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Back flips?[edit]

What about back flips? Shouldn't we mention them? Or are they already mentioned somehow? —Kri (talk) 18:58, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I expanded on this in Classifications section. IMO it's best not to include front and back variations for every possible type of flip in the List below, otherwise it will become nearly twice as long without conveying a commensurate amount of additional knowledge.
