It would be a good or bad idea to create a list of former IOC members? -- Andromeda 8 July 2005 03:22 (UTC)

Id say: just start a list in a second section. -DePiep 14:27, 20 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Done. -- Andromeda 20:34, 20 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Great. -DePiep 10:34, 21 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Changes[edit]

According to the trustworthy wikipedia article on Dick Pound, the man is no longer a member. -DePiep 14:27, 20 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The official site still lists him as a member: http://www.olympic.org/uk/organisation/ioc/members/index_uk.asp -- Andromeda 18:32, 20 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, he just had put down his tasks within the IOC. -83.160.162.149 20:49, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Add organisations[edit]

Some people are a member because of their chairmanship (eg Hein Verbrugge = president of UCI (cycling). To be noted? -DePiep 14:27, 20 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I found some 10 organisations, for a start. See nl:Lijst van leden van het IOC. -DePiep 20:06, 21 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Nikos Filaretos[edit]

He has just died. Thierry Caro 17:43, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Robin Mitchell[edit]

There appears to be more than one person of this name in the world and a disambiguation page is required. The link from the Fijian person appears to be to an entirely different person. Either that or else he's a very interesting guy. Protozoon (talk) 22:43, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Charles Herbert[edit]

Likewise, UK Herbert links to a US Herbert. Protozoon (talk) 22:54, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New members (125th IOC Session)[edit]

Just curious, does anyone know the exact day the nine nominees for membership will officially become members? Been trying to find out, but with no luck. --MusicGeek101 (talk) 14:43, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MusicGeek101, see here: On the final day of its meeting in Buenos Aires, 10 September, the IOC members will elect their new President, the ninth in the history of the Olympic Movement, as well as vote on one new Vice-President, one new member of the IOC Executive Board, and nine proposed new members and honorary members. The source was added to article. Jonas kam (talk) 15:01, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot. Then we can formally update the list on Sept 10. --MusicGeek101 (talk) 18:28, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New Honorary Members for end of 2013[edit]

Kevan Gosper and Lamine Diack, will not be IOC Members past 2013 due to age limit rules. However, both will become honorary IOC Members at the end of the year. Their names should be included on the list of honorary members when this year comes to an end.

Section 'Some recent former members' devoid of inclusion criteria[edit]

There is no apparent reason other than the whim of individual editors as to who anyone should be included in the section Some recent former members. Even the definition of the title is unclear: is 1988 recent? Unless some clear criteria for inclusion/exclusion can be agreed, the section should be removed as POV. 12 days on, no defence offered, section about to be deleted. Kevin McE (talk) 19:12, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please Add Membership of the Executive Committee[edit]

heading says it all — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.100.23.77 (talk) 21:53, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Quite unclear, what do you mean? The IOC Executive Board consists of the President, four Vice-Presidents, and only ten other members. --M96hardh (talk) 01:54, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

>

I can't make it any clearer, but I can repeat using different words. There is no indication on the page of who the exact members currently are that make up the Executive Committee - nowhere. The label "Executive Committee" is not even found on the page. What are the names of the 4 VP's? What are the names of the other ten members? Where are these designations? Where? Is that clearer? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.100.23.77 (talk) 13:52, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
