I have no idea what I did wrong....[edit]

I tried to add the five Canadian entries (below) and somehow blanked the Other States section; even undoing it doesn't seem to work - the undo doesn't show in the edit history (??) - and there's still a big whitespace showing between the section header and the table of other states; but there's nothing in the code to show why.....Here are the five Canadian entries (amazingly only five!): ==Canada== {{Mountain index row|First=1|Name=Bear Mountain|Dab=Harrison Lake|Province=BC|CGDNS=JAEZY|Region=Lower Mainland|Coord={{coord|49|18|05|N|123|44|26|W|}}}} {{Mountain index row|First=1|Name=Bear Mountain|Dab=Peace River|Province=BC|CGDNS=JAEZU|Region=Peace Country|Coord={{coord|55|42|00|N|120|25|00|W|}}}} {{Mountain index row|First=1|Name=Bear Mountain|Dab=New Brunswick|Province=NB|CGDNS=DAFUS|County=Charlotte|Coord={{coord|45|28|00|N|66|43|00|W|}}}} {{Mountain index row|First=1|Name=Bear Mountain|Dab=Saint John|Province=NB|CGDNS=DAFUR|County=Saint John|Coord={{coord|45|19|00|N|65|48|00|W|}}}} {{Mountain index row|First=1|Name=Bear Mountain|Dab=Saint John|Province=NB|CGDNS=DAFUR|County=Saint John|Coord={{coord|45|19|00|N|65|48|00|W|}}}} {{Mountain index row|First=1|Name=Bear Mountain|Dab=Newfoundland|Province=NL|CGDNS=ACPYY|Region=Gros Morne National Park|Coord={{coord|49|40|23|N|57|27|38|W|}}}} Maybe someone else can adjust/add them - I also tried to amend {{Mountain index row}} because BC and Newfoundland do not have counties; New Brunswick dces at least; I thought it would be a simple matter of adding another "if" switch for "Region-" next to "State=" but it doesn't seem to work; or could be the problem causing the blank-out, somehow?Skookum1 (talk) 21:12, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The template is amazingly fragile: it's not that Other States are blank, but that there are a number of line breaks in the HTML. I'll revert the template. Sorry about this. I wish that a template expert (which I am definitely not) could look at this. hike395 (talk) 02:21, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see it doesn't display the "other states" section, with the same code used (which is what I modelled it on....I think, it's been so long). I dropped by here because of the next section, but maybe in ref to the above and the "other states" parallel we should just convert them to bullets and headings like the ones that do display.Skookum1 (talk) 03:43, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
A list of bullets and headings won't line up as nicely as the table. The template has been broken since last year --- is there a standard place to ask for template help? I'd love to simply fix the template. —hike395 (talk) 04:25, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed name change[edit]

"Peaks" seems an inappropriate word, or potentially so, for some of these summits; while it does mean the summit of something, the allusion is to something sharp and alpine; wouldn't List of summits named Bear Mountain?? The one near Victoria is scarcely a bump, the one near Harrison Hot Springs a high knoll (though pretty high), the one near St John NB can be assured to be a hill with no resemblance to a "peak".Skookum1 (talk) 03:43, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

List of summits named Bear Mountain is fine with me. If you decide to move it, my only request is that there are several articles titled List of peaks named XX --- could you move all of them? —hike395 (talk) 04:25, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
