References needed tag

[edit]

I added back the tag for sources being needed. Why are you against sourcing it? Was there consensus that was came to saying sources weren't needed? If not, the tag stays. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 16:57, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Fishhead2100: As mentioned in my edit summary, the sources should be present in the subjects own article. Providing a reference on this list restating that is redundant and unnecessary. Why do you insist on this? This is standard procedure for lists of people like this. Air.light (talk) 19:06, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Air.light: Point me to the discussion where that consensus was reached. You say it is standard procedure, but have not directed to me to such a discussion where consensus was reached. That's all I am asking. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 20:24, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As I understand, policy states that information must be sourced, not where the source is located in a situation like this. As far as I know there has been no discussion to establish if it needs to be in the actual list or not. At least for now I think the consensus should be between you and I and anyone who weighs in here. As we stand now we are at an impasse so I suppose it remains as it is. @Air.light: Not many people are going to see this. It should be in a place where it will be seen by the wider community. It's not just for this list, but for all lists like this. Until consensus is established, just follow standard sourcing policies and procedures. Not everybody on the list who is living is still in Saskatoon for example. This list is not just for people who were born and or raised. It's also for people who lived, resided, or currently live or reside in said city for instance.
