Bands that aren't psychobilly[edit]

The Stray Cats are NOT Psychobilly. They are pure and simple Rockabilly by any standards. I would also think the same for the Rev. Horton Heat. -unsigned

  • I agree that Stray Cats aren't psychobilly, but Reverend Horton Heat is described as psychobilly in his/their article. Also, they have a song called "Psychobilly Freakout." If Rev. Horton Heat really isn't psychobilly, then their article should be edited to say they are not. Until then, they should remain on this list. Spylab 23:16, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Actually RHH wrote an article saying he isn't swing nor psychobilly. Also he is the protege of Bryan Setzer, who sings for Stray Cats. Now Bands like Tiger Army and Horror pops are deffinetly not Psychobilly. Reasons:

Tiger Army - They miss the entire punk rock roots of teh music and basically sound like the Cure with an upright bassist.

Horror Pops - have said in interviews that they are a rock band and stay away from genres. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.145.132.172 (talk) 21:21, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yet their official MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/thehorrorpops) has them classed as Pop Punk / Pop / Psychobilly. Even if what you claim were true, it's pretty much irrelevant. If they're psychobilly then they should be considered such. Merely because they don't like genres doesn't mean they shouldnt be used. This is an encyclopedia, it's about facts not personal opinion. Zombina and the Skeletones don't play psychobilly (indeed, their WP page identifies them as "horror rock"). Pinkbeast (talk) 06:03, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Misfits (band) is not a psychobilly band. This list states "only add bands with Wikipedia articles saying they are psychobilly", a requirement that the Misfits page don't meet. Misfits has elements of punk and horror that are typical to psychobilly, but they generally lack the rockabilly element. Thøger (talk) 12:37, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Psychobilly bands from Finland[edit]

Falcons and Moondogs are in the 1980s Finland psychobilly-bands. I can speak only finnish, sorry!

Is Stray Cats Runaway Boys-song style psychobilly? or punkabilly? 94.22.33.127 (talk) 19:49, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Coffin Nails from the UK aren't in the list...

Which Brains?[edit]

I suspect the link to "The Brains" is intended for the Canadian psychobilly band presently active, and not the defunct rock band from Georgia.Pinkbeast (talk) 06:04, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

About to edit this page?[edit]

Please, please, don't just add a band you like, because it will be deleted. This is a list of bands that are notable; that have, or should have, Wikipedia pages - Wikipedia pages that say they play psychobilly.

... also, I suggest not giving a band a page and promptly adding it to this list. Find out what Wikipedia thinks is notable, create the page if the band is notable, wait a bit and see if it sticks around. Pinkbeast (talk) 15:02, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Category?[edit]

Should this be a category, not a page in its own right? We could add the existing bands to the category, and eliminate the driveby redlinks. Pinkbeast (talk) 00:38, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
