Charter dates
[edit]I can find years for the issuance of the charters for most of the cities. Those that I can find are:
- Echternach (1236), Esch-sur-Alzette (1st time, 1238; 2nd time, 1906), Luxembourg (1244), Grevenmacher (1252), Vianden (1308), Wiltz (1st time, unknown; 2nd time, 1437), Differdange (1907), Dudelange (1907), Rumelange (1907).
I cannot find any dates for Remich and Diekirch, or the date of the issuance of the original (fire-destroyed) charter for the City of Wiltz. Can anyone help complete this data set? Bastin 00:22, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- Whilst I have now updated the statute dates (no thanks to the Mémorial site, which has no records for that era), there are still holes. For example, if anyone could say when Clervaux received a charter, that would be excellent, as it isn't enshrined in statute. Bastin 00:19, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Isn't Ettelbruck missing in this list? "The last such statute affecting town status in Luxembourg was the Loi communale du 13 décembre 1988. In the order outlined in that legislation (i.e. alphabetical, except with Luxembourg City first), the twelve communes with town status are: Luxembourg City, Diekirch, Differdange, Dudelange, Echternach, Esch-sur-Alzette, Ettelbruck, Grevenmacher, Remich, Rumelange, Vianden, and Wiltz.[7]" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.69.113.50 (talk) 10:28, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
