Cool list, by the way. I want to point out that there is no type:volcano
for use with {{Coord}}. Volcanic features that do not resemble hills or mountains should probably be coded as type:landmark
. --Stepheng3 (talk) 06:59, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tip! I've removed the type reference for now and just left it at globe:io. However, would you happen to know how we can make these links really useful, by actually having a map for the {{coord}} template? --Volcanopele (talk) 07:47, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
- I've hunted around for a suitable map of Io. I haven't found one yet, but I have faith that at some point we'll find or generate one. --Stepheng3 (talk) 18:38, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
- What type of map would be required? Does it require one from a Google Map-type service? Or can a jpeg or png file with a map in a suitable map projection be useful? If the latter would work, I do have a nice large one from the USGS that should work fine. --Volcanopele (talk) 18:56, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
- I found what I needed on the USGS site: an equirectangular projection. I ran a few test cases, and it seems to work. Enjoy! --Stepheng3 (talk) 19:54, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for you help on this! --Volcanopele (talk) 21:32, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- And thank you for fixing my careless E/W error at Amaterasu Patera. --Stepheng3 (talk) 08:13, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
