Requested move
[edit]Why was this article changed to Liverpool College HMC from the more logical Liverpool College? BlueValour 03:42, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- It was a cut'n'paste move too (eek). I support a move back to the proper name.-- zzuuzz (talk) 14:15, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- Support - The simple Liverpool College is the designation used by the school. BlueValour 22:22, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Notable Old Lerpoolians
[edit]First off, there is no point in regularly removing Brian Blackwell. He fully qualifies for this list. We are writing an encyclopaedia and not a school website and the article must reflect all notable former pupils warts and all. Blackwell heads the list on alphabetical grounds. If this is a problem then organise the list on other criteria e.g. year of graduation.
Secondly, if an alumnus is notable then they have a WP article. If you consider that they are notable and they don't have an article then please create a page for them first, sourcing that they went to this school please, rather than adding red links which are not verifiable. - To try to overcome the angst over Blackwell's position I have added sub-headings that gets him 2nd bottom!! BlueValour (talk) 02:27, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Liverpoolcollegecrest.gif
[edit]Image:Liverpoolcollegecrest.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:52, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

To avoid further good faith but incorrect additions, Lennon is an alumnus of the Liverpool College of Art not of this school. Smile a While (talk) 22:33, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Houses
[edit]The comment about houses ending in 1992 is incorrect. I was a member of School House through until leaving in 1998. Sorry I can't provide better information, but the school has its 175th anniversary this year so I will see if the Old Lerpoolians can get someone to update matters.
Also the school became an academy in 2012 - see bottom right of the page http://www.liverpoolcollege.org.uk/about-us — Preceding unsigned comment added by Crjos (talk • contribs) 11:56, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
I was also at the school from 1994 - and the house system was very much in existance throughout my entire time. I just need to find a reference to support this Rehnn83 Talk 12:28, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
Thinking back, the 1992 change might be when the Lower School houses were ended, with the Upper School houses being used instead. And maybe there was something about School and Selwyn's going at one point? Crjos (talk) 13:56, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
