Untitled[edit]

I suggest that locutionary act (stub), perlocutionary act (stub), and illocutionary acts be merged into one single article. For two main reasons, when one reads one, one has to jump back and forth between them to contrast them, and second, they all three come more or less from the same theory, and 2 of them are stubs.Consci (talk) 18:45, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This would be a great idea, but 'illocutionary acts' is (sadly) a controversial topic, as evidenced by that some genius editor has managed to delete the entire talk page, which I didn't think was possible even for administrators, and clearly shouldn't be, so this page and Talk:Perlocutionary act are the only forums safe from those fascis-, oops, sorry, perfection-committed contributors. -M MaherCoen (talk) 12:04, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I reviewed the edit history for illocutionary act and see no evidence of edit-warring or controversy. Perhaps there was controversy, but in some other article? 67.198.37.16 (talk) 02:16, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
