Photographs

[edit]

Glad we have these free licensed photographs of Lviv's Main Rail Terminal, but if anyone finds any other pictures that are more flattering than these, please upload them to the commons' Lviv rail cat.--Riurik (discuss) 04:56, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Soviet "Negligence"

[edit]

1975 Does that look like its neglected? --Kuban Cossack 14:24, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unless Halibutt has any sources and refreces for his statement, further reversions to his version will be reported as vandalism!--Kuban Cossack 12:14, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In fact even more here:Вокзал декілька разів постраждав від бомбордувань під час Другої світової війни, після чого відновлювався. В 1946-1951 арх. Домашенком пасажирські зали були перебудовані у стилі "сталінського ампіру".В 2001 відреставрований і модернізований.. I do not know about you, but a pile of ruins cannot be "dismantled" and Stalinist designs were always flamboyant. Goes far from the "negligince" that you insist... --Kuban Cossack 12:22, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
To this I will add a 1980s photo. Oh dear someone seems to really have no idea just how ridiculous they looked when they were writing it. I can understand the initial text, because of lack of sources, but the stubborn reverts afterwards... :{ --Kuban Cossack 12:46, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Move page

[edit]

I suggest this page be moved (renamed). The current title does nor agree with WP's definition of terminal. It's a through station, not a terminus. The new name should be Lviv Main Train Station, or ...railway station. --Jotel 10:52, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree, in the sense that in our nomenclature, a large station (Terminal) is called Vokzal, whilst a small station is called a Stantsiya, and Lvov is certainly a Vokzal, not a stantsiya. Hence why the term Terminal is suitable in this case. And Lvov is a terminus of many major railway connections! --Kuban Cossack 12:31, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I know the difference between Stantsiya and Vokzal, but my reason for the move has nothing to do with the Russian or Ukrainian language. If you do check the WP's definition of 'terminal', you'll find out this does not define the station size, but its track arrangement. The fact that Lvov is a terminus of many major railway connections is neither here nor there. --Jotel 12:56, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
