Current Use?

[edit]

Is this the 75mm used by the Forest Service described in the recoilless rifle article?

It is the 75mm used by the Forest Service at one time. not sure if it still is -- see following.
The article says these weapons are still in use by the US National Park Service. Is there a source for this? I was a US National Forest Service Snow Ranger at one time and know that the Forest Service has used them for avalanche control, but I'm not aware that they were ever used by the Park Service.

According to the M29 Weasel page, the "M29C Type A" variant had a center mounted M20 as its armament. I'll leave it, and add a note to the link explaining as such. I'll also include a link to the M18 recoilless rifle, a smaller caliber model of the same era. Wingman4l7 (talk) 10:20, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Range

[edit]

I doubt, if HEAT range was 6.4 km - maybe HE. I have no precise sources, but effective HEAT range anti-tanks would be around 300-400 m. Pibwl ←« 08:56, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
