Potentially hosting three consecutive Olympic games in Europe[edit]

The following comment in the article does not seem well substantiated: "However, the biggest problem with the 2016 bid is the consecutive bid after 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. This would stage three Olympic games in Europe in a row, an unlikely occurrence."

This is the relevant text from the cited website: "Possibly weighing against Madrid's bid is the IOC's tendency to rotate the games geographically. After the 2012 Games in London, the IOC may be reluctant to return to Europe again four years later." First, no claim is made here that the geographic rotation is deliberate. This appears to be one person's speculation. Second, even if we're able to find an authoritative source that states that this does hamper Madrid's chances, it would remain to be shown that this is "the biggest problem"—i.e., that there are no greater problems affecting the bid. --Dzhim (talk) 19:35, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Having seen no substantial edits to that section and no replies here on the talk page, I have rephrased that sentence myself. But it still smells ORey and could stand further revision. --Dzhim (talk) 16:47, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
