Xenophobia over recent events

[edit]

Judging by the recent edits, there seems to be an increased interest in dealing with issues of racism and xenophobia. I believe the best way to do this is to write a section of the article, dealing with whatever incident made this problem come about, with full respect to the policies of neutrality and original research. This is the best contribution we can give towards stamping out ignorance. Engaging in acts of vandalism (where sometimes this very same types of reprehensible behavior are replicated) is not the way to solve what, I believe we all can agree, is a shameful episode for everyone. It's a pity that some people have chosen to retaliate because of their indignation over discrimination towards Portugal, by revealing expressions of discrimination towards indigenous people in Brazil. Ignorance hurts no matter what color you stand by. Maziotis (talk) 14:16, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
