Who's who

[edit]

According to Gillett and MacMahon (A History of Hull), there's an entry in "Who was who" 1929-40, p.773, from which it states that in later years he became increasingly reactionary and right wing, "but in his middle years he was a scholar and a good man" (quote). It also has other negative character observations such as (quote) "[became] so great a snob that he turned his name into Malet Lambert, insisting that the accent was on the second syllable in each name". I assume this is from the same "Who's who" source - I'm not familiar with this collection and am not sure if "Who's who" is an entirely neutral source ?. It appears to be this journal Who's Who (UK). There is an online version (available with a library card number - so probably UK residents only ?) - but this only has a small amount of detail.Oranjblud (talk) 20:30, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
