Battle of Garfagnana

[edit]

With the assertion (without source) "In December 1944 he led the German and Italian RSI troops in the battle of Garfagnana" the impression is created, a) there were German RSI troops, and b) Carloni was in charge in general.

To a) a clearer formulation is needed, because there were no German RSI troops. And to b) the qualification is missing, that Carloni was responsible (only) operationally. Reference is made to the Wikipedia article [[1]] "While German General Fretter-Pico would be the overall commander, Italian General Carloni would lead the attack operationally. All the offensive was under leadership of Italian Marshall Rodolfo Graziani, who promoted the attack with Mussolini."

Quite apart from this, the indication "Italian RSI troops" (Italian Republicca Italiana Sociale-troops) is tautological. The designation "troops of the Republicca Italiana Sociale (RSI) is quite sufficient.

The wording could consequently read, for example: In the "Battle of Garfagnana" General Carloni led the participating German units and the participating RSI units operationally. Monte Pelmo (talk) 10:17, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
