Sound Design

"Sound design" is a noun, and the proper term for doing it is "creating sound design". See Marty's bio, the term is used there. --Milo H Minderbinder 14:42, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

GA nom?

What are peoples thoughts about a GA nom? It looks really good as is, all sourced, good picture, pretty extensive. Unless there is a glaring omission, it may be good, either get GA status or get a good review out of it. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 01:52, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

I dunno. I’ve got some good info I found in a Bungie podcast I definitely want to add, once I put that in I guess we’ll see what we’re missing. Unfortunately, there’s not a good FA article on a (modern) composer we can use as a reference, unless I’m missing something. Das Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 18:09, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Cool, let us know :) This Halo wikiproject is awesome, these articles have improved so dramatically, good work Dave! Judgesurreal777 (talk) 22:05, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I've integrated the info. The only thing I'm going to look for is some more information on his early life. Other than that, I think it's coming along nicely. :) Das Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 22:32, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I found a good interview, and added a few more sentences. I've nominated it at GAN too. Cheers, Das Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 23:25, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Style

Change Marty to O'Donnell. I saw a comma where a full stop should be as well. I'm not reviewing it yet, but I'll look at this again. As far as I can see it's a pass. :)--andreasegde (talk) 15:47, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

"after which O'Donnell appeared". Where? --andreasegde (talk) 15:55, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

It would good to put a little more in about the subjects linked (like Flintstones Chewable Vitamins) as I have no idea what they are, and flicking back and forth through pages is a little confusing.--andreasegde (talk) 15:57, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

I am amazed that the above comments have not been answered, as this article is on the GA list.--212.241.67.98 (talk) 00:02, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Sorry. I have lots of pages on my watchlist. I'll see about looking at what you've brought up. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 00:13, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

GA on hold

  • "is an American musical composer" - just "composer" is fine
  • "O'Donnell frequently collaborates with his musical companion Michael Salvatori for many of the scores" - redundancies
  • Ref 1 (and some others perhaps) need |format=MP4
  • Personal life section generally goes after the career one
  • "Despite his interest in progressive and fusion rock" - wlink the genres here
  • "O'Donnell began working for television commercials and film" - began his career working in film/TV...reword
  • "Bungie contracted O'Donnell to work on several of Bungie's other projects" - repeated word
  • I didn't check them, but I'm not sure if the ELs are necessary. Suppose it depends on how much other info there is about him (guessing not much...).

Leave a note on my talk page when done. Cheers, dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 07:45, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Martin vs Marty

Someone inserted a fact tag behind his nickname "Marty". His email address is Marty, his email sig tag says Marty, his Bungie bio on the website says Marty, when I interviewed him he responded to Marty and when he spoke at the Vancouver Game Summit his name tag said "Marty". --8bitJake (talk) 20:53, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for resolving this issue, you should add some sort of in-article citation, though.84.13.82.186 (talk) 20:08, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

My interview with him is here.[1] Feel free to add it but am not going to since it is an external web article that I wrote --8bitJake (talk) 20:11, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Termination

About half an hour ago, Marty tweeted that he'd been terminated "without cause" by Bungie's board of directors on April 11, 2014. Kotaku's trying to contact Bungie for more info. Keep your eyes peeled. -Zachcoggin (talk) 05:59, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

Forgot to drop a source link: Marty's tweet -Zachcoggin (talk) 06:01, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
'Tis in the article at present and ref'd in the lead. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 14:20, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

Current tense/Past tense issues

With Marty's termination from Bungie a good chunk of this page is inaccurate, especially the "Composition" section. Most of it is current tense even though it should be past tense since a lot of it refers to him "working" at Bungie and how he composed music for them. Can't decide on how to word some of these though, which is why I'm making a discussion topic and not just editing it myself. --198.228.228.174 (talk) 05:13, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

I've gone through and fixed tenses. Some organization might be in order with some sentences applying to Bungie only, but until O'Donnell surfaces doing something else I think they're fine where they are. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 12:42, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
