Why the switch?

[edit]

I see that this and MD 17 switched numbers in 1940, but there's no mention of why. —Wrathchild (talk) 17:13, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

From what I believe, the current MD 17 once connected to VA 17 (now VA 287) at the Virginia border, so the switch was for number continuity from VA 17 to MD 17. Dough4872 17:22, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Makes sense. Thanks. Would that information be worth adding to MD 17 (assuming a source can be found)? —Wrathchild (talk) 17:38, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Try looking for a reliable source and feel free to add it. Dough4872 18:09, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Busiest bridge

[edit]

How best to word the sentences about the bridge being the busiest? When I read the article I immediaetly thought of vehicle traffic, of which is has very little compared to many bridges, but obviously it means marine traffic. Beach drifter (talk) 13:49, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I clarified the sentence so it refers to being busiest in terms of bridge openings. Dough4872 21:00, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
