Haven't reviewed book GANs before, but I did use this book extensively for several articles, so lets see what we can do!
- The lead seems pretty anemic; it doesn't really cover the "Content" section (which is like half of the article), or mention the Showtime movie attempt.
- I expanded the lead. GamerPro64 04:48, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- Background says he spent 5 years on research, but Content says it was six years. Neither says which years that was, though
- I'm assuming the five years is for research, and six years is strictly about interviews. GamerPro64 04:48, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- Background is also anemic; I think you could pull more from that Gamespy article about why he wrote it and why he chose the style he did
- I expanded the background. GamerPro64 04:48, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- Should probably link video game journalism somewhere
- Inserted it in. GamerPro64 05:21, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
"Seth Mnookin for The New York Times described the book for its pacing and detail"
- not sure what "described for" means here- I must have meant praised. Not sure how that happened. Changed that bit. GamerPro64 04:20, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- I was confused how the book inspired the founding of Reddit, but it seems like it inspired them that founding a company could be fun, and Reddit is just the one they founded- should be mentioned
- Expanded on that. GamerPro64 05:05, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
"As of 2020, the outcome of the lawsuit is unknown."
- probably better as "No outcome of the suit was ever reported.", since I think if no source has anything after 18 years, it's not going to happen..- Changed to that. GamerPro64 05:05, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- That 2019 pilot was in post-production in February 2020, so it did get made
- Added that in. GamerPro64 05:05, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Rahul Kohli (actor) saw the pilot and twote about it in 2021, implying that it wouldn't get made ("most pilots never see light of day")
- I'm not entirely sure if a tweet like that would be a proper source on Wikipedia. GamerPro64 05:05, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Really what this article is missing is content. Lets see...
- An audiobook of MoD was made in 2012 by Audiobooks.com, read by Wil Wheaton (Audible store page)
- Added it. GamerPro64 05:05, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- May be worth mentioning that Kushner, in addition to other non-fiction books, went on to write Jacked: The Outlaw Story of Grand Theft Auto in 2012, which is a similar idea to this book
- Romero sells signed copies of the book on his website
- Added it in. GamerPro64 05:21, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- Kirkus Reviews review of the book
- Was in Further reading but I added it in. GamerPro64 05:21, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- PopMatters review of the book
- Already used in the article. GamerPro64 05:05, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Kushner blogpost about the book, says he's writing kind of a spiritual sequel serially online and has other details
- Added that in. GamerPro64 05:05, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Checked other GA non-fiction book articles and they have this structure, so I think this is pretty close, it just needs some filling out. --PresN 03:20, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
Alright, made a few more tweaks myself, and passing for GA. --PresN 18:57, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
