No need for (horse) in title

[edit]

I suggest this be moved to just plain Maud S.. There's no need to add the "(horse)" because there are no other articles which conflict with the name. RoySmith (talk) 21:25, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • I wouldn't object to that. I only appended the (horse) part because a fair number of other horse articles were done that way, but I see now that you are right, most of those are the result of name conflicts.Brianyoumans (talk) 23:21, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, done. It looks weird to have the trailing dot, but as far as I can tell, that's actually part of the horse's name so left it in. RoySmith (talk) 23:28, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    • Thanks! Yes, the period was part of the name. The horse was named after the owner's daughter, Maud Stone. It seemed to be pretty common at the time to name a horse in some way after the owner or a member of the family. Like Jay Eye See, one of Maud S.'s competitors - J. I. C. were the owner's initials.
