HAER documentation[edit]

I undid Nyttend's edit, restoring the Historic American Engineering Record HAER survey number and title so that this documentation can still be found if the link dies. The HAER survey number is of similar importance to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) reference number in the infobox for this article and the World Guide to Covered Bridges (WGCB) number found in nearby covered bridge entries such as Bitzer's Mill Covered Bridge. Nyttend's deletion removed useful information from the article; I put it back. Martindelaware (talk) 02:59, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There's no need to include extra information. What's the chance that the link will die? Someone can always go into the HABS/HAER/HALS search — or Google that, if the search page dies too — to find it. Anyway, the purpose of an external link is simply to describe the link; if the link dies, we remove it. Purposes for which we would require data would be either a link directory — which isn't permitted here — or a reference, which would not be placed in the external links.
