Meredith?

[edit]

Ok, why is everyone taking that name seriously? I think it's fake/a nickname because Meredith is FEMALE name NOT a male one and yes, I did look it up to be certain it wasn't like Leslie or another one of those female common male uncommon names. I have seen people editing the pages to reflect that this is his real name and I think it's disputable.

actually, Meredith was a guys name a long time ago, along with Ashley, plus, there was no reason why his sister would call him Meredith if it wasnt his name, nor would he even acknowledge this as his real name. Simply put, it is his real name... -Xornok 21:41, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know Ashley is also a male name but my reference also lists Ashley as a male name, it does not list Meredith as a male name at all.

because your reference knows all? -Xornok 23:41, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Your reference is irrelevant. McKay's parents can have named him anything they wanted, and he himself said, "It's Meredith Rodney McKay, I go by Rodney". -- Noneofyourbusiness 20:42, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Which universe did Rod come from?

[edit]

I wasn't sure if I should put the following into the article itself (under the heading "Speculation" or something), so i'm writing it here to get your feedback. Just hear me out, i think this is pretty interesting.

There's no evidence to this, but Rod might have come from the same alternate universe that the "evil SG-1" came from in the season 9 episode "Ripple Effect." The "evil SG-1" in that episode wanted to steal our universe's Atlantis ZPM so they could use it to power their Earth's Ancient Weapon to defend against the Ori. Their plan ultimately failed, but isn't it possible that Rod came from that same universe, this time to steal our Atlantis ZPM's energy to recharge their ZPM so they can defend Earth from the Ori?

omegadirective 03:51, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Um, no, cause he said his earth already had an ZPM, so there would be no need for his SG-1 to come and try to take ours... plus, where did all this recharging stuff come from? -Xornok 12:54, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was just speculating...I might have missed some dialogue that clarifies my question because McKay talks really fast sometimes.
-omegadirective 23:48, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Of course he could have been lying, but the ZPM's power was simply drained not transferred to another ZPM. Also, that Earth would be under Ori dominion by now in all likelihood. -- Noneofyourbusiness 18:00, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does Carter do the same thing as "Rod"?

[edit]

When Samantha Carter is teleported to another universe in "The Road not Taken" it's because the Carter in that universe was drawing power from parallel universes. It seems to me that this is quite similar to this episode. I thought I would mention it here before adding it to the article in case I was mistaken about the events of either episode. Can anyone confirm? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.190.208.240 (talk) 14:42, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Stargate Atlantis -- 3x08.jpg

[edit]

Image:Stargate Atlantis -- 3x08.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
