Summary of Edits
[edit]This page was prodded and de-prodded. I've removed inappropriate bean-count WP:PEACOCK wording about his total number of publications and which are the most highly cited. Also added a notability tag after following-up with a WoS check (Author=(Demirel M*) Timespan=All Years. Databases=SCI-EXPANDED, SSCI, A&HCI), which shows the following:
- While he does have a few highly-cited papers (specifically, the 3 listed in the article), he is corresponding author on none of them. On two of them, R.L. Jernigan is CA and on the other it is I. Bahar. Demirel's role is unclear for these papers
- His overall publication record with an h-index of 10 does not conspicuously pass WP:PROF #1
Also,
- Some awards are listed in the article, but none of these are obvious clinchers for WP:PROF #2 and none have any WP:RS
- The sources given for his expertise point back to personal websites at PSU, so these are not really WP:RS either
These observations suggest this person is of borderline notability. Notability tag will give some time for more material to be added, but if none is forthcoming, then a full AfD debate is probably in order. Respectfully, Agricola44 (talk) 15:22, 7 April 2010 (UTC).
