some nice graphs of greenland glacial earthquakes if someone can find a way for them in wikipedia....[edit]

blog--Smkolins (talk) 03:25, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

has anyone taken into account the heat generated by these earthquakes?--Smkolins (talk) 12:22, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Glacial Earthquakes Point to Rising Temperatures in Greenland (Rise of seismic activity linked to the movement of glaciers may be a response to global warming) - looks like a better source for those graphs.--Smkolins (talk) 14:02, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

found an old analysis of seismic noise from 1993 Variation in microseism power and direction of approach in northeast Greenland (Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America; December 1993; v. 83; no. 6; p. 1939-1958). It suggests some history of analysis which they are in agreement with. It speaks to frequency of vibrations, and directions of motion of the vibrations, and seasonal variation. It just never says the vibration are from ice changes. Curiously some frequencies peak in winter while others in summer. I wonder if they are seeing re-freezing of water? --Smkolins (talk) 15:52, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
