The Wikipedia entry for Polari (the theatrical/gay cant/dialect/cryptolect) points to this article through the following sentence: "It [Polari] was also used extensively in the Merchant Navy, where many gay men joined cruise ships as waiters, stewards and entertainers." Is the British Merchant Navy known for gayness? AShould this article be pointing to Village People?
