Lede image[edit]

A bit of a dispute concerning the lede image. What had been in the article for quite a while was Image #1, which shows the front of the building. This was changed to Image #2 which shows the rear of the building and part of the cobblestone street, but I think that Image #3, which also shows the rear is an improvement on it. (All images are shown at 300px.) What's the consensus here? BMK (talk) 21:55, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Image #1
Image #2
Image #3
I support one of the "rear" images, since by its design and during its historical period of significance, the east elevation was actually the front (the main entrance wasn't relocated to the west side until 1922, per the NatReg nomination), and since it is the more architecturally-distinctive and better-known side. By way of comparison, this is also the side that the NPS chooses to show on their website, and the one that shows up overwhelmingly when you do a Google image search for "Philadelphia exchange". I do generally agree that between #2 and #3, #3 is the superior image (by virtue of being less back-lit), though it too could be improved. Morgan Riley (talk) 16:09, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Morgan Riley: What in particular needs to be done to #3 to improve it? BMK (talk) 16:59, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
