This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --BirdieH (talk) 14:39, 25 April 2016 (UTC) Michael Behrens is a renowed German artist, represented by several international galleries, art fairs and art collections. Please let me know what to do to improve the article. Thanks.[reply]

See WP:ARTIST I believe this person fails the guidelines, which require rather more than a string of shows in commercial galleries.TheLongTone (talk) 14:45, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There is only a few internationally renowned sculptors working with the medium glass (in the fine art sector) and his works are part of significant art collections. BirdieH (talk) 15:39, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Seven Bridges Foundation is not recognized by Wikipedia as being notable, neither is the Ernsting Stiftung glass museum (though de:Kurt Ernsting himself is). Behrens' website says his work is also in the collection of the de:Glasmuseum Immenhausen, so a citation for that would be helpful. The article doesn't mention any of Behrens' awards! Also very important is to show articles and reviews by notable art critics and recognized art magazines or books. The Burlington Magazine is an important art journal, but there is no link, and the name is spelled wrong. All of the citations are very poorly written. They should link to ISBN or ASIN numbers or similar resources, and use the standard citation format for English Wikipedia. Probably the strongest point is the exhibition and accompanying "GLASpekte" book of the Museum Kunstpalast, and the inclusion in its collection, which is one of the most important glass collections in the world! I do have to ask though - BirdieH, do you have some direct relationship with the artist, is he maybe a friend of yours? If so, then you don't have to say who you are or what the relationship is, but you must follow the rules in WP:COI. IamNotU (talk) 17:55, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know him in person. We talked about him at university last semester (lecture about German sculptors). I have improved the citations, added the awards and some more collections and remedied the shortcomings. As with Burlington Magazine, you can find the article online as a pdf but you have to buy it - there is no free access, so I would rather not state the link. I have contacted the artist's studio asking for some more information regarding publications and literature. (BirdieH (talk) 09:14, 26 April 2016 (UTC))[reply]

Ok, good work! Don't worry, I'm sure the article won't be deleted... -- IamNotU (talk) 04:06, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
BirdieH Please do not reject sources just because they are hard or costly to access. See WP:PAYWALL Mduvekot (talk) 12:49, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
