Split from Misery
See Talk:Misery#Split_off_film.3F for discussion about taking the film info from Misery and placing it in this article. Also note that if that goes ahead, the GFDL authors list will have to take into account the history found at Misery.--Commander Keane 06:52, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Misery page move
FYI, there's a current proposal to move Misery to Misery (book) and Misery (disambiguation) to Misery, since there are a lot of uses of the word Misery, and at least the book and film should have equal notability, instead of preference given to the book over all the other pages. If you have any input on the matter, please make it known at Talk:Misery#Requested move. --Maelwys 18:28, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Re-wrote the plot synopsis
Today (08/08/07), while watching "Misery" in fact, I rewrote the plot portion, since the one that was there was really poor, not to mention gave away the ending without a spoiler warning.
Not even to mention terribly inaccurate, before I took care of it it said that he killed her
by taking her gun and shooting her. Citanul 16:35, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Reference in Superbad
I was hoping someone could include the quote given by Seth Rogan's character in Superbad where he mentions "Misery". I do not remember it exactly, but it's in there. Zeppelin462 (talk) 06:14, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Trivia section unverified
In particular, I noticed the following:
"The part of Annie Wilkes was offered to Anjelica Huston and Bette Midler, both of whom declined. Huston reportedly wanted the role, but was forced to turn it down because of her commitments to the film The Grifters. Kathy Bates, who was unknown at the time, accepted the role and won an Academy Award for best actress."
While I can't be sure the above isn't true, I know it isn't the whole story. On the DVD of Princess Bride, Goldman (or maybe it was Reiner--I can't remember) mentioned that he always had wanted Bates for the role (she was known on stage) and if not for his intervention the role could have gone to just about any big-name Hollywood actress--his examples were Meryl Streep and Glenn Close. marbeh raglaim (talk) 17:07, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
I changed "his private" to "groin." Calling it his private sounds unprofessional to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Disturbed286 (talk • contribs) 08:20, 20 December 2008 (UTC) THIS ISNT TRUE DOE. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.18.255.41 (talk) 12:37, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
Spoilers Removed
I removed great swathes of plot since they are unnecessary and spoil the book/film somewhat. I'm not too precious though, maybe someone prefers it all in there - if so, please add a big SPOILERS warning! Sweavo 08:41, 11 July 2007 (UTC) Bold text

Filming location of the exteriors of the house.
I know Annie's house was a facade just built for the film. I'ts a supposition but, for me, the false house was located about 39° 06' 36.85 N-119° 50' 03.50 O. You can check to "google earth". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:CB1D:80A6:D000:39B5:515F:9BF0:1E63 (talk) 19:27, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
