Darkfriend speculation
[edit]"Early in "The Great Hunt" there it is subtley suggested that she may be a Darkfriend. This occurs when she and Suian Sanche almost attack Verin Mathwin with the One Power when she discovers their guiding Rand al'thor. This along with her knowledge of Balefire heavily suggest some ties to the Shadow since the weave for Balefire should have been lost." I don't think this "heavily suggests" that Moiraine has ties to the Shadow at all and is grasping for straws. The whole of "New Spring," which is mostly told from Moiraine's point of view, pretty much indicates that she is anything but a Darkfriend. Then there is the following quote:
"I will not let you go to the Shadow. I have worked too long to allow that. Whatever it takes."
-The Shadow Rising, Into the Heart
I'll give it a few days in case the writer wants to revise the entry, but otherwise I'm going to strike it as a violation of WP:NPOV.ChipEverwood (talk) 16:19, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Pillow- Friends
[edit]I am altering the statement that Moiraine and Siuan were lovers, because I don't believe the evidence in the cited source or in the novels to be concrete. And if read more clearly the source states that the evidence of such a relationship and the term pillow-friend are both ambiguious. --Eno-Etile 06:36, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Sean
- Actually, according to RJ himself, they were lovers, as are all White Tower pillow friends. -- nae'blis 18:28, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- I apologise, the source that was cited said something about the term being ambigious, also could you give me a quote stating that Moiraine and Siuan were pillow-friends? Its been awhile since I read New Spring.
I'm reading New Spring Now, I'm about 4 hours into it (audiobook) and No mention of Moiraine Or Siuane being lovers has been made. I'll update if I find something.
Good lord, they are referred to as pillow friends more than once in New Spring, RJ has stated that pillow friends are more than just friends, that they get hot and heavy. What more do you need, a billboard? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.118.197.56 (talk) 05:46, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Picture
[edit]Hey! I wanted to link a picture of Moiraine to this page, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. Could someone upload this picture and link it to the top of the page? Thanks!

Related to Rand
[edit]Taringail (Damodred) was Rand al’Thor's mother. Moiraine Damodred was Taringail's half-sister, and thus must be Rand’s Aunt? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.25.253.164 (talk) 12:21, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- Taringail Damodred is not related to Rand. Rand's mother is Tigraine Mantear who was married to Tigraine. Taringail & Tigraine are Galad's parents.Caidh (talk) 12:50, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Elayne is Rand second step sister and btw Moiraine is Rand step second cousin once removed by the fact that Galad is Rand half brother and Moraine is the niece of Galad father —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.9.249.3 (talk) 15:55, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
