Seeing as the text of this article is currently a direct copy of this file here, it must be completely re-written, with more sources provided. - Done!

There should also be added a section on the constitutional function of the Monarchy in Saskatchewan, the role of the Lieutenant-Governor, etc. If these things are done it could possibly become a template for other articles on the Monarchy in other Canadian provinces. --gbambino 21:16, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Reginapats.GIF

[edit]

Image:Reginapats.GIF is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:02, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Princess Louise, Marchioness of Lorne

[edit]

Wouldn't it be appropriate here to use "Princess Louise, Marchioness of Lorne" and "Marquess of Lorne", as those were their titles at the time they were living in Canada? Indefatigable 20:42, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The image Image:Silverroyalvictorianmedalcrowncopyright.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

File:Rsm.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Rsm.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Other speedy deletions
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Merge proposal

[edit]

I propose merging Monarchy of Canada in Saskatoon into Monarchy in Saskatchewan. The former is a non-notable topic, and is replete with original research. As pointed out in this AfD in 2008, the monarchy reigns over millions of people in thousands of cities, and Saskatoon's connections to the royal family are not of particular signifigance. Support. Agree that there is no point to a separate, largely unsourced article for a city. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 01:13, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support. "Monarchy of Canada in Saskatoon" duplicates a lot of information that is available in other articles, and the non-duplicated info should be sifted for notability and verifiability during the merge. Indefatigable (talk) 19:57, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
