Contested deletion[edit]

Morteza Mahjoubi is a significant figure in Persian traditional music and a founder of Persian piano music.

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... Morteza Mahjoubi (1900-1965) is one of the founders of Persian national music and a creator of a style of Persian music on the piano which is unique in the world. I have acquired a couple of books which contain biographies of him and articles on his contributions, which I intend to share here with complete reference. There's already a complete page on him in persian wikipedia and I intend to follow the format of that article as it is well thought out, stylistically elegant, and well documented. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bkarjoo (talkcontribs) 05:58, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Discrepency between sources[edit]

According to Rouholla Khaleqi Mahjubi's father played the ney. However in an interview with Radio Iran Magazine in 1957 Mahjubi himself notes that his father "had no share in aesthetics and the arts." It sounds to me that his father didn't play any instruments and Mr. Khaleqi has made a mistake or has been misinformed. However it could also mean that if his father played the ney he was no good at it in Mahjubi's opinion. If anyone has any idea about this please share. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bkarjoo (talkcontribs) 01:20, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
