The article in French for this topic is extensive, perhaps something of a translation might be attempted? --60.241.95.185 (talk) 15:27, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

[edit]- An example of music semiology is Grace Kingsbury Muzzo's deconstruction of the work of Arvo Pärt's compositions in "The Tintinnabuli Technique of Arvo Pärt into the Twenty-First Century."
The above was removed as being particularly hard to find. Hyacinth (talk) 07:51, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Article title
[edit]I'd propose that the title of this article be changed to "Musical semiotics". This would make it consistent with basically all English-language literature on the subject (and on semiotics in general), with the most notable exception being Abbate's translation of Nattiez. The term "semiotics" was standardised internationally in the 1960s.[1][2] The term "semiology" is typically only used in French-language scholarship (as "sémiologie") and even there the term "sémiotique" appears common. basswaster (talk) 07:07, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
