Genre
[edit]Mystery Genre added - due to mystery elements as part of the series. The series involves the main character investigating the claim that his sister is somewhere in the school he attends, in which he wants to figure out who she is. The issue is that this genre is not an advertised one, instead part of how the series unfolds. I think adding the mystery genre will help people looking at this page understand what the series involves. Other romantic comedy anime do not have such a veiled and complex plot. - It doesn't matter if you have determined it is a mystery per WP:SYNTH. What do the reviewers and media sources call it? -AngusWOOF (talk) 17:18, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- Comment We cant add a genre for ever single plot element of a series as it develops. The limit for genres is usually three per page and the ones that better describe a series as a whole (rather than story arcs and minor plot points) are used as reliably sourced. In any case, Wikipedia isnt a stage for original research as AngusWOOF pointed out. —KirtZMessage 17:43, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- OK that's fine. I was just curious as to what constitutes adding a genre. In any case http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=14176 which has the genres listed also states that the series is a drama as well as a mystery. Because ANN is already listed as a source in the page, can we assume that ANN's genre listing is accurate? If so, should we be including either drama or mystery as the 3rd genre? I apologize for any inconvenience this added - on other wiki projects I have worked on the foundation for posting information was quick dissemination of found research. - ANN's encyclopedia entry itself isn't reliable as it is user-generated content, WP:ANIME/RS, however, if there are reviews by the ANN staff, you could consider those. -AngusWOOF (talk) 18:29, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell - the genres were lifted from both the Sentai page (listing the only Genre as Comedy) http://www.sentai-filmworks.com/index.php?option=com_catalog&view=item&Itemid=54&id=742 and the Crunchyroll page - Tags: comedy, romance, harem. I'm looking through the actual manga entry from MediaFactory in an attempt to get the right genre. Is Crunchyroll acceptable as a source to cite some information from?A liability (talk) 19:23, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, it's a retailer in that as long as the information is coming from staff (news, reviews, English titles) but the tags are questionable if they are user-generated. Forums and comments are user-generated so they can't be used. -AngusWOOF (talk) 19:35, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- THEM Anime Reviews called it a harem, fanservice and drama in its Genre classification, with the review itself focusing on the harem aspects. It mentioned "minor mystery" in the genre listing, which puts it as not the main genre, at least compared to the first three. [1] -AngusWOOF (talk) 02:05, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
I have just purchased the series and after watching can say it fits into the mystery genre. The entire series is the main character trying to find out who his real sister is while reasoning out possible girls. I recommend you watch this in Japanese btw as the dub of the main character guy isn't the best in my opinion (girls are great). - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 23:35, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
