[edit]I know of no materials on this particular plague, although it could be related to the movement of Crusaders during that time period. If so, the causal agent could be typhoid. Medieval scholars, please take a look. WBardwin 23:56, 29 May 2005 (UTC)
- The Middle Ages were long over, as were the Crusades proper, in spite of later attempts to revive the "crusading spirit". The struggle against Ottoman domination of the Eastern Med though was still in full swing, see Cretan War (1645–1669). This was a continuation of the Crusades, but here we're getting into fancy discussions over the extended definition of that category of anti-Muslim wars. So a connection to the trade with the East, most certainly, but not with the mediaeval Crusades. Arminden (talk) 11:27, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
Title misspelling
[edit]Title of this page is misspelled. Should be Naples'_Plague. 87.213.32.150 11:34, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- Corrected.--Trulexicon (talk) 10:46, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
- Wrong. It stands for "Plague in Naples", not for "Plague belonging to Naples". No genitive, so no apostrophe-s. Arminden (talk) 11:06, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
