[edit]I have searched on the web and found four ways of spelling the song title. These are:
Ne ver', ne boysia Ne ver', ne boisya Ne ver', ne bojsya Ne ver', ne boisja
Which is the correct one? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.159.89.171 (talk) 14:57, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Don't Believe, Don't Fear → Ne ver, ne boysya – Revert recent move by User:Etymology Enthusiast. Mats84 (talk) 08:47, 30 September 2024 (UTC) English-language sources generally refer to foreign-language pop songs by their title in the original language, unless e.g. an English cover is better known. See e.g. Despacito, Ai Se Eu Te Pego, Dragostea Din Tei. The user seems to have moved some other Russian songs to English translations of the titles, which doesn't make sense to me. The original title of the article was Ne ver', ne boysia, but boysya is the standard transliteration as far as I know. A quick Google search didn't indicate that any single transliteration variant predominates, so it seems best to stick to the normative transliteration "boysya". In any case "boysia" seems like a mish-mash; "boisia" (which also seems more commonly used than "boysia") would at least be consistent if one would prefer using "i" to "y". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mats84 (talk • contribs) 08:47, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- See also WP:RUS. Mats84 (talk) 08:54, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- After checking WP:RUS for how to handle ь, I propose removing the apostrophe and using Ne ver, ne boysya if we stick to standard transliteration, which seems the only sensible option given the inconsistent way this title is transliterated. Mats84 (talk) 09:00, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- WP:BOLD edited desired title in my previous posts and move request template for clarity; I hope that doesn't break anything. Sorry for any confusion. Mats84 (talk) 09:04, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
