Reaction between NpSi2 and HCl is unbalanced

[edit]

the reaction given, NpSi2 + 8 HCl -> NpCl4 + 2 HCl, is unbalanced. There is excess chlorine on the left.

The linked reference does not directlu give a reaction. Possible candidates, which must be checked:

With anhydrous HCl:

2NpSi2 + 12HCl -> 2NpCl4 + 3SiH4 + SiCl4

With aqueous HCl:

2NpSi2 + 8HCl + 2H2O -> 2NpCl4 + 3SiH4 + SiO2

Both assume no other products such as H2 or other silanes. Olthe3rd1 (talk) 20:01, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
