This is insufficient. The net-snmp site is awfull and the documentation is almost incomprehensible. We still need a good explanation of what it is and how it works.

Net-SNMP is NOT a protocol. Thus, it should not be listed under "application layer protocols". That is, Net-SNMP is a suite of software. The (application layer) protocol is SNMP (more precisely the protocols are SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, SNMPv3, AgentX etc.) See the list of categories at the bottom on the article. 80.4.63.73 (talk) 08:41, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
