History?[edit]

Hello, New Hempstead fans:

Does New Hempstead have no history? Were there Natives there before the arrival of Europeans? Did any Dutch immigrants settle there? Who owned the original English patent? When was it settled? The article opens by stating that the village was formed by non-jewish and secular jewish people to preserve the ambience of the village. I think this is an offensive statement.
