"New Thought adherents believe that sickness is the result of the failure to realize this truth."

[edit]

19th century language can be quite harsh. Today many of us in the New Thought movement don't believe it's a failure of realization but rather a misunderstanding of where the true power lies, which is within. This realization allows us the opportunity for more control over our lives. This is my belief based on my own understanding and experience with New Thought.
