Names'forms

I think it 's a pity to use the "latinized forms" of the names. Moreover this latinisations are wrong: Nigel d'Albini is totally ridiculous! Nigel is based on a latin word nigellus that derives from niger = black His real name was Néel that is still common as a surname in Normandy. It is the Hiberno Norse name Njall < Nial. Aubigny should be latinized in Albiniacum to be correct. I know that the old documents are written like that. Nortmannus (talk) 01:05, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The ODNB agrees with you. It says (of William Pincerna) "unwarrantedly Latinized as Albini". --Heron (talk) 12:51, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
