First French operator of Night Ferry

[edit]

The Night Ferry was undoubtedly started in October 1936. This article states that it was operated by the Southern Railway in England (agreed) and SNCF in France. It's the SNCF piece I struggle with. According to the Wikipedia article on the SNCF it was founded in 1938, which implies that before this the Night Ferry was operated by one of the SNCF's predecessors, probably the Compagnie des Chemins de fer du Nord. I've been unable to confirm this. Can anyone help, especially with a pointer to a reference work? Nsorelli 13:23, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uniqueness

[edit]

In what context is the carriage of sleeping cars by ferry unique? Even today, sleeper cars travel by ferry between German and Sweden on the Berlin Night Express. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.92.191.55 (talk) 03:40, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Where does the article say unique? Alarics (talk) 16:56, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
