Noble Republic[edit]

I noticed much of the article got deleted by someone who is already for 7 years member of the Wiki community. I am not editing pages since years, and while I didn't bother to login, I reversed most of the deleted things, although many correct citations and a link to a book/author may be added back as well after consideration of others. Feel free to correct and add info to articles, but deleting majority of it should be out of question.

Never forget that while this government type didn't get much use in reality, it is still historically documented and possible. Among other things, the Noble Republic is also a government option for the nation to adopt in the strategy games of Europa Universalis 3 and 4, and it is likely many players will try to look it up on Wikipedia. Deleting every mention and description of it except for the pointing to a few Polish decades is inappropriate. 84.0.72.83 (talk) 17:31, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Saved text omitted from article (discusses only one republic (Friedberg), not all[edit]

This was in the original article, removed since is going into deep detail about a speicifc noble republic, rather general, encyclopedic info.

... "During the 15th century, they gained control over the Imperial City of Friedberg at their dawn (when the Holy Roman Emperor pawned it), acquired a hold in the noble Ganerbschaft of Staden, and purchased the nearby County of Kaichen in the Wetterau. The status of their community was reflected in the fact that their Burggraf acted as leader of the Wetterau network of knightly families from 1492 until 1729 and as Hauptmann of the Middle Rhine network of knightly families from 1536 to 1764.[1] The Noble Republic of Friedberg was unusual by the network of twelve noble families sharing a single burg and its was under the constitution for the burg developed between 1337 and 1498." ... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 893jf8943hgkd893 (talkcontribs) 16:26, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

While I agree that not everything should be about a single state and the article should stay focused on the description on the government form itself, the mention at least of the few existing real examples would be preferable, if the description doesn't go too deep into details on those. 81.183.20.97 (talk) 10:21, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
